Far Side of the Moon
This image gives us a rare view of the back side of the Moon. As the Moon orbits the Earth, it always keeps the same side facing toward us. Because of this, we never get to see the far side. The Galileo spacecraft snapped this image of the back side of the moon on its way to Jupiter. It was taken on December 9, 1990 while the spacecraft was about 350,000 miles from the Moon.
