Home Sweet Home
This pink anemonefish (Amphiprion perideraion) has made a home within the stinging tentacles of a pink-tipped anemone (Condylactis gigantea). This image was captured by NOAA photographer David Burdick in the waters off the coast of Micronesia in the Pacific Ocean. Known also as a pink skunk clownfish, this fish is a member of a group known as anemonefishes. These fish are known for their ability to resist the poisonous sting of the sea anemone tentacles.
