Magnificent Sea Anemone
This beautiful sea anemone is known as a magnificent sea anemone (Heteractis magnifica). This large anemone species is characterized by a flared oral disc which typically reaches 20 inches (50 centimeters) in diameter. Specimens as large as 3 feet (one meter) have been observed. This is one of the anemone species that can serve as host to an anemonefish. This one has picked up a pink skunk clownfish (Amphiprion perideraion) as its new roommate. The magnificent sea anemone is found throughout the waters of the Indian and Pacific oceans.
