Bleeker's Parrotfish
This image of an bleeker's parrotfish (Chlorurus bleekeri) was taken by NOAA photographers in the waters off the coast of Fiji. It is found throughout the tropical waters of the central Indian and Pacific oceans, including Micronesia, Samoa, Fiji the Philippines, and Australia. The males of this species are more colorful than females. This is a medium-sized fish that can reach a maximum size of 20 inches (49 centimeters) in length. It feeds mainly on filamentous algae.
