Redtooth Triggerfish
The redtooth triggerfish (Odonus niger) is a strong and aggressive animal. It is a common sight among the reefs of the Red Sea and the Indian and Pacific oceans. These fish have very powerful jaws that can chew through just about anything. As an adult they have bright red teeth which gives them their common name. They use these jaws to grind through coral and to feed on starfish and sea urchins. Triggerfishes are able to achieve an unusual means of propulsion by undulating their dorsal and anal fins.
