California Hydrocoral
This species of hard coral is known as a California hydrocoral. This coral varies in color from deep purple to a light pink. Because of this, it is also referred to as pink or purple coral. Unlike most hard corals, which loose their color when they die, the hydrocoral will actually retain its pink or purple color because the color is embedded inside the hard, stony skeleton.
